Handy Super Mario Icons Guide by sandrodcpereira Handy Super Mario Icons Guide by sandrodcpereira
There were a lot of people asking me how to use the icons, so I thought a tutorial was in order!

This obviously works with other icons, but instead of making a plain old boring tutorial, I thought I'd do one with a Mario twist. =P

Looking for the icons? Get 'em here!

Also, this is for the Windows version, as you can probably tell.

I believe you can choose the iTunes executable file (located somewhere like C:/Program Files/iTunes) in the "choose icon file" dialogue to revert back to the original icon.

Hi there! Loving the icons, but I also had another question: how did you do the font for "Super MarioIcons"? It'd be really cool if you could post a tutorial on that. :)

The one featured on this logo is actually a font that's widely available for download. Just google "Super Mario font" and you'll find it easily.

If you mean the effects on the logo, they're just a combination of the standard Photoshop layer effects, like "stroke," and "drop shadow."

I hope this helps. If you want to know about anything else in a bit more detail, feel free to ask. I'll gladly help in any way I can. :)

I was curious about how you got the stroke to overlap the letters (like between the P and E in super) and to look so non-rounder at the corners. Did you do each letter on a seperate layer?

In all honesty, it's been so long that I cannot recall the exact process.

From what I can remember, though, I think the font was actually just the outline (seen in white). I believe I created all letters in separate layers so that I could fix any overlapping issues, and then added the colour to a background layer. After that, I added a 1 pixel stroke to the outline and a drop shadow to the colour. :)

The icons were innitially tested on Windows Vista, so they should work fine... What problems are you experiencing?

Hey! Nice Job :-) But one question. Dunno if this is the right place to ask but I've been dying to know this. How do I convert my jpeg/bmp to .ico files?

Glad you like the icons! ;)

To convert pictures into icons, I've used a couple of Photoshop plugins before. That's the cheapest way, since they're free (assuming you already got Photoshop).

Personally, I prefer using a standalone application, since it gives a lot more control and options. I use Axialis' Icon Workshop. It's not too expensive and works like a charm!

Also, for the best results, you should have PNG image files with a transparent background, like the ones in the icon pack!

I hope that helps!

I'm sorry, I really wish I could help, but I can't.

Would you mind telling me about the problem you're having? I can't do anything without details, as I'm sure you understand.

I understand that you can not help, and that is fine with me.

Well, My problem is more like a question in a way.

When you dowload the icon file thing, It goes to your winrar, right?
Because that what happens to me, When I get there and right click on the file there is no 'Extract here' button.

xD I hope that makes sense!

I'll try my best to help you out, don't worry! ;)

The thing is, I need details in order to do it, otherwise I can't even begin to try to guess what is wrong.

OK, from your comment, I'm guessing you're not saving the zipped file to your computer, opening directly from the internet. If that's the case, instead of clicking the download link, right-click it and chose "save as" to save it to your computer and follow the other steps!

I hope this helped! If not, gimme some more details! :)
