Hee, hee, I know someone who has one of those gigantic old cells. It still works!
Thank you very, very much for the great comment! It's always a pleasure to get feedback from you.
I have a cellphone collection of my own, though not really an impressive one. I do have one of those bigger ones, but with no charger, I can't really get it to work.
I've sort of regressed, cell phone-wise. I lost the slim/sleek sony erikson I had in a cab. Luckily my cell phone company lets people dumb enough to lose their phones have a new model real cheap. My replacement phone, a samsung that looks like a Star Trek communicator holds a charge for over a week. It's shiny, a little bigger and heavier than my former phone, but I can always find it in my purse.
I used an old Nokia phone (can't really remember the model, though) for four years and it was incredibly tough, and it still works perfectly today.
The one use now, and have for the last year (the Nokia 5300), is already dieing on me, all sorts of pieces are falling off and it crashes constantly.
It's really frustrating!
I have a drawer with my old cellphones, discman, tape recorder and other stuff right here next to me! They've been there for years and I obviously never use any of them anymore, but I like to keep stuff like this anyway.
I think I may have a collecting bug in me.
Collecting is cool. Maybe you can make a sculpture out of your electronic junk. I collect one thing -- two-cup sized teapots. I never buy them. Each one (old or new) is a gift or hand-me-down from someone special.
As for my collections, I think it's because of my love for graphic design, but I really like (and collect, to an extent) packaging boxes... The ones that come with gadget and similar stuff in them!
I like my iPod packaging as much as the iPod itself.
